I love this perch from its soft plush carpet and its three-sided construction to its solid wood and sisal wrapped scratching posts. It’s easy on and easy off even for elderly cats.

More About This Cat Tree / Perch for Large Cats
This is another perch from New Cat Condos that is purrrfect for one or two large cats. New Cat Condos is a much loved and trusted company that makes high quality cat products for large and any sized cats. One reason customers keep coming back to this company is the products are usually delivered fully assembled or with very little assembly.
There’s no particle board so this perch is going to last many years. The perches are large enough for large breed cats to comfortably nap or enjoy the window. The raised sides make cats feel safe, the open side makes them feel secure. Cats have a natural fear of being trapped, this comes down to them from their wild ancestry. So, some cats prefer one or two open sides.
Cat Tree Features:
- Two raised levels
- Soft household grade carpet, sisal wrapped scratching posts.
- 20 inch x 20 inch perches are large enough to share with a kitty housemate
- 32 inches high (window sill level)
- Large enough for most large breed cats
What Owners of this Cat Tree Perch Think
In general, large cats and their humans give this perch a two paws up (90%. With only a very few exceptions.
‘’ Isn’t large enough for a true main coon. Quality is amazing though just small.’’ I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t see the photo. The cat is huge!
‘’ This cat perch is fantastic. We have several large cat trees in our house, but I wanted something a bit shorter and simpler that I could place in front of our 180 gallon fish tank so that the cats could watch their fishy brothers and sisters swim around. This perch is perfect — great height, very sturdy even with several large cats on it, and soft and comfy carpeting material for the cats to lounge on. Most importantly, my cats love it! Whether they’re watching the fish, sleeping on it, or playing with the feather, they use this perch multiple times a day.’’ What a great idea!
‘’All of my New Cat Condos are holding up great with no problems and 2 are several years old. They are used constantly with 2 being out on the screened porch and 2 inside. No problems with the carpet. I saw a negative review stating that this condo’s perches are not “well padded”. Well, I’ve never seen a cat tree that has “well padded” perches. Never! That negative review sounded ridiculous! If someone wants “well padded” perches, put a pillow on them. SMH! My 3 cats love these well-built New Cat Condos with carpeted perches so that’s why I’m a repeat customer. After ordering 3 others over the past years and now this one, I’ve never been disappointed. Neither have the cats. It’s always love at first sight for them. They do have a taller cat tree from a different manufacturer that they rarely use. At ages 3, 4 and 5, they prefer these.’’ This is representative of the positive reviews.
On the other hand:
‘’ I liked that it came assembled, it’s sturdy (2 of my cats are large), the carpet is good quality – it doesn’t fall off and make a mess when they scratch and there’s room for all 4 of them if they choose to all be on it at the same time.’’
Most, 70% of humans and kitties, gave it one paw up.
This perch has proven to be a good choice for most large cat families. Of those few who were not happy, scratching on the carpet instead of the sisal is the most often cited problem. For cats who scratch on carpet and make a mess, the perch is available with all sisal posts for a higher price. Since the perch will last for years any extra cost for extra sisal is well worth it.
